What Age Does LECC Serve? LECC serves children ages 2–12, with programs designed to meet the needs of children at different stages of development.
What are LECC hours? Our full-day program is open from 7:00 AM–6:00 PM. We also offer a half-day program from 9:00 AM–2:00 PM or 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM.
What Does LECC Offer Besides Preschool? LECC offers before-school and afterschool care, childcare, summer camp, and holiday recess camp. These programs provide families with additional care options throughout the year.
What Does a Typical Day Look Like at LECC? Children's days include a balance of learning, play, exploration, enrichment, meals, social-emotional development, and physical activity. Activities are designed to encourage children to learn through hands-on experiences and meaningful interactions.
Does LECC Help With Potty Training? Yes. Our staff works closely with families to support children through every step of the potty-training process, helping them develop independence and important self-care skills. This includes assistance with toileting, clothing management, handwashing, and self-cleaning as needed while encouraging children to become increasingly independent.
How Does Tuition Work? LECC is an attendance-based program, so families are charged only for the days their child attends. This flexible approach helps families pay for the care they actually use. LECC also accepts DSS childcare assistance for eligible families.
Does LECC Provide Transportation or Busing? Busing is available for students accepted into LECC through the Central Islip UPK program. Families must apply for the UPK program through the Central Islip Union Free School District. To apply and learn more about transportation, visit the Central Islip UPK Program page.
